You are welcome to bring a dog but as the house is very open plan we request that you crate your dog if left alone in the chalet and also overnight. Dogs are strictly not allowed on any furniture or on the top floor which is fully carpeted. We can provide a crate to suit most sized dogs but please check if you have a particularly large dog! This chalet is not suitable for cats as we have lots of natural fabrics (wool, fur, silk and skins) which could get damaged by claws and may not pose for a relaxing holiday for the owner of a cat! Thank you for your understanding.
Arrival day for guests at this chalet is Sunday.

About Maison d'Hiver ...
Relax in the jacuzzi as you watch the sun sink behind the mountains at this luxurious chalet in the Mont Caly area of Les Gets. This magnificent 5 star chalet for 12 has been sumptuously renovated by the owners, who are proud to share their family home with guests of OVO Network.
They have put a lot of thought into the design and decor of this beautiful home, and it's the little details as much as the wonderful facilities which will make sure you have a holiday to remember.
Situated just 2.5 km from the village, Maison d'Hiver is a five-minute drive to Les Gets, and the integral garage will mean your car is always warm and ready to go. When you get to Les Gets, there is a parking space reserved for guests of Maison d'Hiver in the centre of the village, right next to the slopes. If you prefer not to drive, there is a half-hourly ski bus service (the bus stop is a 10-minute walk away), as well as a night bus and a free "petit train' which you can hop on and off to get you around the village.
Beautifully decorated in a traditional cosy mountain style with contemporary and quirky touches, Maison d'Hiver is a perfect choice for two families or a large group of friends, wishing to make the most of mountain life in summer or winter. Arrival day for guests at this chalet is Sunday.
The property ...
This cleverly-designed home with plenty of room for 12 people (max 11 adults) is set over three floors.
The steps leading to the front door are heated in winter to keep them safe and snow-free. As you enter on the first floor, hang up your outdoor gear in the heated cupboard in the lobby - it will be warm and cosy next time you go out.
The majority of this floor is devoted to the stunning L-shaped open-plan living area. There's a cosy seating area around a woodburning stove, and a large dining table with plenty of seating for everyone to eat together. Doors open on to the terrace, with fabulous views of the majestic Alps and the Les Gets valley - the perfect place for an apero or perhaps coffee after your dinner.
The Alpine charm of the kitchen hides all the equipment you could possibly need, including two ovens and two dishwashers - a real advantage when catering for a crowd. While the cook rustles up a feast, the stools at the breakfast bar and central island make it a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and a chat. There's another terrace at this side of the room, with a cosy seating area and a different view of the valley. Each terrace has a dining table, which can be joined together so that everyone can get together for an al fresco feast!
A great TV and games room with games console completes the first floor - younger guests will enjoy having their own space close enough to the kitchen to nip out for snacks and drinks!
Three of the six bedrooms can be found on the lower floor - two doubles and a room which can be arranged with twin beds or as a double. All of these rooms have en suite shower rooms, and one of them opens on to a sunny, south-facing terrace where you'll find the hot tub - the ideal place for a little stargazing before a good night's sleep.
The spacious lower lobby on this floor has table football and a wall of heated ski boot lockers.
The remaining bedrooms are on the top floor. The stunning master suite has a sumptous bathroom with a free-standing bath and a separate shower, there's another double room with an en suite shower room and finally the bunk den, which younger guests will appreciate.
About the area ...
Les Gets and the neighbouring resorts of Morzine and Avoriaz are in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, which has 12 resorts spanning the French/Swiss border. In fact, you can ski in to Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.
From Maison d'Hiver it's just a five-minute drive to the ski lifts at Les Gets, which will whisk you in to the heart of the Avoriaz ski area. There's also half-hourly ski bus which stops a 10-minute walk from the chalet. It's an uphill walk back at the end of the day, but the owners of Maison d'Hiver have arranged with a ski hire business that you can leave your skis and boots there, to save you carrying them back to the chalet. They have also arranged a discount, should you prefer to hire your equipment.
If you're not a skier, the nearby resort of Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema shows films in English.
The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner - on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.
As spring comes to the Portes du Soleil, a whole new range of activities opens up to visitors. Lush green slopes and wild flowers replace the pistes, and the mountains become a haven for hikers, bikers and thrill-seekers. The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure. Take a picnic, and make a day of it!
For a change of scene, visit the nearby resorts of Morzine/Avoriaz or the village of Montriond and its lake, which is perfect for a gentle stroll and a picnic, or perhaps a bit of kayaking.
Les Gets and Morzine have earned Famille Plus status for their excellent childcare and entertainment, so this area is the perfect choice for young families.
There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages. Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz.
Other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. If all this sounds like hard work, you could always just relax in the hot tub on the terrace at Maison d'Hiver!
If you are already imagining your perfect holiday at Maison d'Hiver, why not check your holiday dates against our availability calendar? If you're not quite ready to book, we can hold your dates for you for 24 hours so that you can check with the rest of your party. But don't wait too long - this stunning chalet is very popular with our guests!

The OVO Network Review
“... great extra facilities to ensure that everyone is kept busy, happy, occupied and relaxed.”
Maison d'Hiver is a six-bedroom, five-bathroom chalet for 12 (max 11 adults) spread over three floors and 240 m2 of floor space.
The chalet would ideally suit discerning guests who enjoy sumptuous surroundings, a well-equipped holiday rental, and some great extra facilities, to ensure that everyone is kept busy, happy, occupied and relaxed. Maison d'Hiver is 2.5 km away from the centre of Les Gets, so best for those who are happiest when away from the crowds, but close enough to the centre of things for convenience. Anyone interested in interior design will find plenty of ideas to inspire them; the owners have taken care and spent time on every detail, and obviously enjoyed putting the chalet together. The result is a chalet which is quite unique, and fun!
If you need space to work or relax, guests can take time out in their very comfortable bedrooms, the cinema/games room, the games area, in the jacuzzi - with disco glitter ball (we kid you not), and then all come together in the main living areas for meals, apres ski etc. Kids will love the bunk room behind the curtain, and the "secret" play area. Hide and seek in this chalet must be such good fun! With en suite bathrooms for 5 of the bedrooms, kids can share their parents bathroom, there is an independent WC on the main floor. The chalet is spread over three floors, so guests with bedrooms on the top floor will have three flights of stairs to contend with.
At an elevation of 1280m, the views are really special, and there are several terraces and balconies to enjoy them from.
Les Gets is a fabulous family resort, with a really proactive Tourist Office which organises some great events all year round. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, family-friendly cafes, shops and boutiques, plus of course direct access to some great skiing, and plenty of parking if you prefer taking the car to the ski bus in the winter. Guests can walk from the door all year round, and cycling locally is a mountain biker's or road cyclist's dream. If you fancy a change of scene, Morzine is only a short car ride away.
We are thrilled to be launching a new destination for our guests with such a beautiful property, and hope you will enjoy it too. The cherry on the cake - the manager is happy to organise lots of extra (paid) services for those guests who are on the look out for a pampered holiday experience. Go on, treat yourselves!

Quite Simply My Favourite Place In The Alps !
"My family and I love staying at Maison D’Hiver. It is a beautifully furnished and absolutely stunning chalet. There is loads of room for everyone to have their own space whilst retaining a warmth and charm that makes it feel cosy and warm. The views from the balcony and hot tub are outstanding, and you can just catch the tip of Mont Blanc on a clear day. If you are bored of that there is always the table football to distract you!
Its location in Les Gets gives great access to the local slopes, and it is in a quieter area of the village so you benefit from the tranquillity of the mountains whilst being a short walk/drive from the bars and shops. The Les Gets ski area is great for all abilities, and it is easy to access Morzine and the wider Portes du Soleil. Better still, there are some wonderful smaller ski areas just a short drive away that are definitely worth exploring.
All in all you will not fail to be relaxed, rested and happy in high quality surroundings. Quite simply my favourite place in the Alps!"

“Beautiful house, exactly as described.”
There were so many nice and different areas to sit and enjoy the views. We loved the area too, very close to Mt Caly.

“A fantastic stay !”
Tastefully decorated chalet with a homely feel, lots of space, and gorgeous view. Trust in guests much appreciated. We would love to come back.
The resort has a great family feel (as I remembered Les Gets to be 40 years ago despite the changes!).

“Breathtaking chalet with stunning views”
A beautifully recently renovated chalet that combines serious style and comfort. Spacious but cosy in a peaceful location up in the hills with stunning views over Les Gets valley. I would certainly recommend this chalet to everyone.

“Paradise in the Alps”
We spent six days staying in unabashed luxury. Absolute perfection ! It appears that everything has been thought of. The views from the chalet and the sunsets are sensational. A beautiful experience, and we can’t wait to go back there in June next year.

“Truly like something out of James Bond movie…”
We cannot speak highly enough of this ski lodge !!!
As soon as you enter this amazing place, you know you are in the lap of luxury. Every room has been well thought out and perfectly reflects its environment. Loved the fur wall in one of the bedrooms. It is very clean and well maintained and the owners provided excellent customer service as well as giving us great restaurant tips. The lodge is a short drive away from the pistes and the main village in Les Gets which has a fabulous array of shops and boutiques. We found it very easy to hire ski equipment in the village. When we returned back to the lodge after a day of skiing it was a real treat to sink into the outside Jacuzzi and just enjoy the fabulous views. Will definitely be recommending this property to friends and family.

How to pen a review about the most perfect property? Words like magical, stunning, fabulous, majestic come to mind but don’t do it justice – perfect is just that.
We have stayed at several high-end chalets through companies like Scott Dunn but this place was head and shoulders above all of them. The clear attention to detail and level of comfort was second to none. This was not so much a ski chalet but a winter home (perhaps the clue was in the name) with nothing to want for.
An abiding memory was sitting in the large hot tub before dawn as a vast tract of starlit sky enlightened itself moment by moment as the light of dawn displaced the dark and a perfect day’s skiing beckoned. Sitting there at the end of day was equally magical as the sun disappeared down the valley.
The chalet sits on the side of the hill and affords glorious views. This means that a car is needed but an integral garage means that any vehicle is kept warm overnight and the car park at the bottom of the Perrière chairlift is only 5 minutes away at the bottom of the hill and, being used to skiing in North America, this was no big deal – and worth it for the stunning views.
Will I return? In an instant – but even if I don’t, this trip will live long in the memory, if not indefinitely.

“Wonderfully comfortable, well-designed ski chalet”
We had a wonderfully relaxing and luxurious week.
The house is very comfortable with great beds, linen and bathrooms. The design and flow of the house is very thought-through with spaces to be together, but also for kids to have fun: movie room, jacuzzi and fussball/football table etc.
Lots of charm in spite of having all the mod cons.
The views are beautiful. Everything is run very professionally and smoothly. We would go back in a flash. We loved it.

“Beautiful chalet in a stunning setting”
We went out after Christmas with our slightly older kids (9 & 16). The chalet is gorgeous and there’s lots of space for kids and adults.
Bonus: there’s a games room for kids and table football. From a mum’s perspective there are super-practical heated cupboards for all the wet boots, gloves, coats etc. There are shutters on every room so it’s easy to get pitch black for sleeping babies/kids. The kitchen has two ovens and two dishwashers which is great.
The location – the chalet is half way up a mountain so make sure you have snow chains that fit the vehicle. You don’t have to drive if you don’t want to as there’s a 10 min walk to catch a bus that takes you right into the centre of Les Gets. It’s on a loop so is very frequent.
The town – Les Gets has loads of ski shops and places to eat.
My advice – take slippers and dressing gowns so you can get out to the amazing hot tub – perfect after a day out.
Beautiful scenery. We loved it!

Why Les Gets?
A picture perfect, family-friendly ski resort just 6km from Morzine, Les Gets is a delight. With access to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, an ESF ski school, plus ice skating, cross country skiing and more you’ll be spoilt for choice. In summer too the village is alive with fun and activities for all the family and has earned the prestigious Famille Plus Montagne status.
Try mountain biking, watersports, tennis, fishing, yoga… the list goes on!
